South Branch customers are individuals and families looking for the best quality pet available. Since 1950, we have been breeding top quality Golden Retrievers. At South Branch, we take every step possible, from proper nutrition and exercise, to seeking out top international bloodlines for our breeding program, to ensure our puppies are genetically sound and healthy, with mild and gentle temperaments. Our goldens are bred to be consistent with the Golden Retriever Breed Standard.

All the Puppies pictured below are reserved and shown for reference only:)
Dude, I'm not sure what it is...but boy does it smell ANCIENT! I bet it's been under this tree all winter!
Could it be...Truffles???

Looking more like Daddy Roy with every passing day...

Leaves...kinda like truffles, but with a bit more crunch.

I bet you wonder what I'm doin' down here without my life preserver...me, too.

I'm telling you...shaved scrupulously over a pile of Pappardelle in the Piedmont with a lovely Barolo...or atop some delicately scrambled eggs with a touch of cream in the South of France...they're a real delicacy.

"The most learned men have been questioned as to the nature of this tuber, and after two thousand years of argument and discussion their answer is the same as it was on the first day: we do not know. The truffles themselves have been interrogated, and have answered simply: eat us and praise the Lord."
Alexandre Dumas (1802-1870)
Below...when we were smaller...and weren't yet fans of mysterious fungi, fine vino and obscure poetry...
Red Carpet?? Try Leopard Print, Grrrr...or maybe Blue Velvet, Baby...no, not the movie, but boy that Isabella Rossellini sure is hot stuff. Or was that Bobby Vinton's song???She wore Blue Velvet, la la la...sorry...that's so WAYYYY BEFORE MY TIME, DUDES!
But we digress...just a few "portraitures" of us getting older and more debonnaire...see us further below when we were just little tykes. Growin' up and dreamin' big of bein' just like handsome Daddy Roy!

Memories...of when we were young and "more" innocent below:
Is it Springtime yet??? Just basking in some late February sunshine and dreamin' of splashin' in puddles and playin' in mud...but shhhhhh...don't tell Mamma!!!

Yes indeedy my friends. A Pointer, Uh, I mean Retriever...multi-talented I am...

Man, that big wind yesterday blew all these fantastic sticks onto the yard. What luck!

Holly, after carefully surveying the situation, I would say that you have some serious raking in your future.

Ball, sticks, ball, sticks..so many choices it makes me dizzy.

Giddy Up!

Please email us at southbranchgoldens@yahoo.com for more details on adopting this loving little boy.
"Flynn" next six pictures: RESERVED
Yep...I'm all over that blue ball...check out the ear position. Alert, right??

Oh yeah...pounce, pounce, pouncity-pounce-pounce-pounce and one more for good measure...POUNCE!

But...it's so far away. C'mon..all play and no chill makes Flynnster a dull boy...

Dude, I'm not listening. See the head turned? La, la, la, la, la...get the ball yourself!

Yeah, of course I see it's closer now. See, that's me, lookin' right at it. See Spot; See Spot Run; See Spot Ignore Holly. Repeat after me...C-H-I-L-L O-U-T JANE. How 'bout you ask DICK to get the ball?

Dude, are you still alive? I can go for help. Dude??

See how this expression makes me look like Daddy Roy?

Ya mind if I snuzzle in next to you for a sec Holly? Real calm like? Just in case your meditating or something.

Have I told you lately that I love you?

Ah sticks, mere child's play. I've graduated to more sophisticated pursuits...

Like geology...

Or is that geography. I always get them confused. Rats.

Dude, I hold in my mouth one of the most fuzzy and mossilicious pieces of lichen this side of the barn. North side...Green Acres...is the place for me. Keep Manhattan just give me that countryside...la la la...unless of course you can drive a tractor, bale hay and own a Ferrari.

You've heard of hot rock treatments at the spa, right? This is kinda the opposite.

Gabe's brothers and sisters from this full English Creme litter have been reserved and are shown further below for reference only.

Big Hugs are the best hugs...and, really, some of the best things in life...
I'll wait if you want to give me another hug...

Now everyone wants in on the action!

Usually, it's Lawson giving the kisses!

Trading pets for wags...Laine & Sunny

No, really, I can sit on the other seat...c'mon, Mom!

Lawson practices his balance while Sunny hopes for a small pet and not a big CRASH!

I love you, too...and thanks for not falling on me...how 'bout another smooch?
"Hey Lainey...last one down the hill's a rotten egg!"

Hey guys...come check out this awesome hiding place under the stairs! Mom will never find us here!

Race you guys to the swings!

"Sunny, I'll let you push me on the swings...but NO UNDER DUCKS!"

Sunny stretching her legs and expanding her horizon...

One thing we hear from potential customers over and over is...I don't want to show my dog, I just want a quality pet. Here is our reply: As you can see from our site, our South Branch goldens can be shown if a customer desires, however, our main goal is to provide the best golden pet possible to our customer. This is one reason the "titled" Champion goldens produce such nice puppies. They have been proven compliant in the show ring, of superior intelligence, stature and in excellent health. This results in a golden puppy of a more "perfect pet, excellent disposition and trainable" variety than those goldens specifically bred to hunt, for example.
Regarding health and well being of our South Branch puppies: Our goal as golden retriever breeders is to supply our customers with a puppy in excellent health at pick up. Our puppies are well socialized and worked/played with and handled every day. They get lots of love before they leave South Branch. They come partially potty trained and are used to going outside to romp, play and, of course, eliminate, prior to pickup. Our breeding concentrates on providing our customers golden pups with an excellent temperament; sound genetics, well nourished body and soul and with a clean bill of health, checked direct by our favorite vet, Dr. Al of We Care Animal Hospital. Both South Branch golden parents are always on site, and you can see from our testimonials that we have very satisfied customers. Also, we guarantee our puppies and provide new owners with health, feeding and training recommendations at time of pick up. That is our responsibility. Once the pup leaves South Branch, we have to rely on the new family to provide the love, nurturing, support, proper diet, exercise and socialization required to produce a healthy, well-tempered adult golden. Still, we do our very best to prepare our families with the necessary knowledge to be successful in this role. We also recommend reading, “I just got a puppy, what do I do?” by Matthew Margolis, which is among many excellent books available on training and preparing your household for a puppy. I just got a puppy is a quick and easy read for the entire family. Consistency is key!! A well-behaved golden who knows and understands basic commands is the happiest pet, and a true joy to be around.
